The post of Communications, in its simplest form, can be summed up by the Nokia company's motto. It is Connecting People. As director of this area, I aim to improve the interaction of IRC members and ultimately foster a respectible learning environment. To achieve this, I wish to expand and develope our traditional avenues of communication such as this website, email updates and campus advertisements to make involvement with the IRC more appealing.
Communications is not a one-man job. Thus, I hope to recruite a small staff which can help sustain efforts of on-going projects, whether it be website reform, poster design, or news cast. With a broadened team and resources, our goals can be stepped up to bigger ambitions; perhaps video clip advertisements, coordinated newspaper issues, or creating an IRC 'resources database'. It would be tragic to not tap into Georgetown's diverse pool of talent. Thus, I welcome all interested individuals with whatever skill sets they have to help us improve the function of the IRC.
