On Friday, December 4, the IRC paired up with the European Club to host the Winter Wonderland Embassy Reception at the Greek Embassy on Massachusetts Avenue (fondly known as Embassy Row). All proceeds from the reception, which totaled around $700, will go to the Save the Children foundation.

About 150 students enjoyed a night of mingling with embassy staff, listening to classical as well as modern Greek music, and trying out delicious food provided by the Greek Deli DC. An introduction from the IRC Chair Michael Karno were followed by welcoming remarks from Ioannis Vrailas, the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Greek Embassy. Mr. Vrailas highlighted the importance of cultural exchange and spoke of sharing Greece’s traditions with the present group.

Congratulations to the IRC Events Staff, led by the Directors of Member Relations Christina Politi and Joan Xie, for a successful and enjoyable reception!
