IRC Kicks Off 2009-2010 in Style!

Old and new IRC members face off in a game of Diplomacy

The International Relations Club kicked off the year in style, with a slew of events planned for new and returning members. The busy kickoff schedule included the IRC Game Night, Freshman Social, BBQ and Meet the Board, culminating in the highly-attended GIRC and NAIMUN/NCSC General Interest Meetings.

The Game Night in Alumni Lounge included a high-tension game of Diplomacy, contrasted by a lighthearted session of Cranium on the adjoining table. The masterminds of strategy faced off in a game of Risk, while masterminds of a different mold battled it out over the pool table.

The Freshman Social and IRC BBQ gave an opportunity for new members to mingle with the old over food — the ultimate ice-breaker — and a mutual love for international relations.

The meeting rooms for both the GIRC and the NAIMUN/NCSC General Interest Meetings were choc-a-bloc with members who wanted to get further involved with the club and its myriad of events and opportunity offered over the year.

A big Thank You to everyone who showed up to the IRC kickoff events! The club is excited to have you join its ranks!

For those of you who weren’t able to make it to our events, or for those who can’t get enough of the IRC, we have more events coming up! Make sure you keep your eye on our Kickoff Schedule, our Calendar and our Weekly Emails for updates.
